The Adobe Source Library (ASL), http://opensource.adobe.com , provides peer-reviewed and portable C++ source libraries. The libraries are intended to be widely useful, leveraging and extending both the C++ Standard Library and the Boost Libraries. In order to obtain maximal reuse ASL strives to avoid entangling separable components. Parts of ASL need to make use of runtime polymorphism traditional object oriented design is too intrusive to support the required level of modularity. In this session, we explore the benefits of the Concept-based approach used in ASL to achieve runtime polymorphism in a non-intrusive, regular manner using "runtime concepts" (which can be viewed as generalizations of boost::any).
